Katherine is the Policy and Practice Department Programs Assistant at Health Resources in Action. She has worked extensively with BHHSC Safe and Healthy Childcare Initiative and contributed to the development of the  Department of Public Health's new guidance document, "Caring for Kids with Asthma: A Guide for Massachusetts Child Care Programs."

Elizabeth (Liz) Tanefis serves as Assistant Director of the Policy & Practice Department at the Health Resources in Action. She develops and oversees several public health initiatives. Liz began with the Lead Action Collaborative before the creation of BHHSC. She now manages a regional tobacco prevention and cessation program, working with community coalitions, health care facilities, health departments and other partners to develop effective policy, communication and education strategies that reduce tobacco use and create tobacco-free environments. Liz's other work includes: authoring guidance documents on asthma management, a report on medical billing methods for asthma services, and researching and writing policy briefs on the intersection of early education and public health policies.

Boston's Inspectional Services Department was honored at the National Healthy Homes Conference in Nashville last weekend with a Healthy Homes Champion Award for their proactive inspection work.
